Not too familiar with this poll thing so I guess just reply. My vote is Eddie. I like Bono and all but there is something about Vedder's voice.

Bono. Im not real big on him, I like all the popular stuff that Ive heard on the radio but I just hate eddie vedder and pearl jam altogether. Maybe its because I used to be obsessed with Nirvana but I just dont see what everyone else does in that band, just dont like them. I can deal with a few songs but overall they just dont appeal to me.

more range than Vedder?????Ranting Thespian wrote:bono has a very distinct voice with more range and power, while giving off really good emoitons.
You must be insane...
Have you guys ever tried to sing any pearl jams stuff?
My word that's insane...........
I like bono but he's not even in the same league as vedder.
I spit at this poll....if there was one..
Vedder rules.... bono uses falsetto more than anything else.... vedder has much more natural range and anyone who disagrees can kiss my ass

plus bono can't sing like he used to... vedder still has his voice, i've never heard him shy away from one note.. beat that

just because he doesnt shy away from them doesnt mean he hits them. I like both bands a lot, but I would have to give it to Bono.Trippin Hillbilly wrote:plus bono can't sing like he used to... vedder still has his voice, i've never heard him shy away from one note.. beat thatRanting Thespian wrote:bono has a very distinct voice with more range and power, while giving off really good emoitons.
the best way i can describe it is that Bono sings with the music while Vedder tends to sing over it.

vedder without a doubt, do you guys listen to music?
Man, I am shocked to see all the Bono stuff.....Each and every one of you are entitled to your opinions, but I have to question your knowledge/extent of knowledge of music.....Bono started out, as did all of U2, having no idea what he was doing......this was the best thing he had going for him, and he did some really original, cool stuff (I love U2)....but lately, he is rocks version of Justin Timberlake, singing silly, pointless, poppy stuff, like "Beautiful day", and marketing/selling to the masses. If you are talking about true singing ability, there is no point in even asking this question: they both suck. Neither hits pitches accurately or with good diction, and you can find far better vocalists studying at any university in the US. Thus, you have to base their talent and singing ability on their ability to evoke emotions from an audience through their music and their ability to write lyrics (themselves, not by some studio lacky), in which case Eddie Vedder takes the cake. Vedder has written socially/politically relevant lyrics and performed them with a great deal of sincerity and passion for over a decade now, something Bono once did, and should return to doing (rather than singing love songs to 14 year old girls). I have seen both bands in concert, and seeing U2 perform the same 15 song set night after night of a tour is monotonous at best, whereas every PJ show is unique, and the members (especially Vedder) give 100% every night. Do yourselves a favor- go out tomorrow and spend some of that x-mas money on a pearl jam bootleg, all are available at any CD store, and give it a listen. It will be money well spent. I once loved U2 for all that they were, but they have thrown away all that once made them so good.
