Dave uses D'Adarrios on his (it's an acoustic...it just sounds better with those sharp attacking acoustic strings) but i use Elixers on mine for gigs and such(elixers can last me 2 and a half weeks if i stretch the life out of em'...I also play hours a day so they would prob. last longer if you didn't play but maybe 5 hours a week[I use the "light" ones and they work hard for me...worth the money]!!!

I've contemplated getting one and I almost did but I have no real use for it, the only reason I really want it is because dave used to play one, but they really don't sound too great in my opinion, but, if I ever find a good deal on a used ebony one, I will most likely pick it up and modify it for fun, that is, when I can afford too...

Have yoe ever played one...a guitar that is...the chet (Gibson)?

Chet has such attack and such volume with virtualy no feed back. The guitar sounds so beautiful while playing with a band...believe me, I know!
Pretty nice action on the neck too... the thin body makes playing those Dave chords easier...
and sounds better without any effects so try playing one.[/quote]

I've played multiple different one's countless times and my friend happens to own one which I've spent a lot of time playing as well, I just don't think that they're all they're cracked up to be...even dave must think so, he had the original eletronics stripped and had fishman stuff installed, and using actual acoustic strings like dave does helps infinitely too.

Oh yeah! I know...I just doesn't sound right without acoustic strings. I use either Elixers or D'Addarios on mine. I'm just in love with the attack it give...that quick response...

Just save up...if you play enough to justify buying one...I was onli 13 when I got my black beauty! I just started saving my money from work...If you play all of the time (mostly in a band) then save up and get one man!

one day, when I'm not so poor because of all my other guitars, I'm going to get one and just watch myself playing it in a mirror, even if I'm in my 40's...it shall be fun!
