wabba zabba. very INTeresting.

as for lyrics...just practice. write it all down always. then overtime (yes time) you start to see which rules you might need to follow/ignore depending on the type of music you want to create. its all good stuff. enjoy.

as said before, isaac hit it right on the head.
you a chill brotha mista isiiiaac.

i'll ignore your spelling abomination of my name because you're cool, ryo. ;)

anyway, tico, i do agree and disagree with your statement. yes, some people are naturally better at arts than others, but that doesn't mean that they can't improve, and you do, with time, as long as you have people honestly critiquing you.

i met a girl once who wrote for about 4 years and was still writing the same type of crappy, rhyme after every line scheme and no expansion of vocabulary because she was attractive and no one said that she was bloody horrible at writing.

"i love you and i cry
because you told me a lie."

seriously, that was literally a line from one of her poems, and her problem came from people always encouraging her that that was the right direction, and it wasn't. so, as with anything, surround yourself with people that know what they're talking about. i've learned more about guitar because i've been on these boards and people know what they're talking about. it's the same idea as not going to a techno board to learn more about folk music. ;)

persistance and time are the greatest teachers, and some people may never be the greatest lyricist, but as long as they keep at it, they can improve and make at least decent art. there will always be someone better, but that shouldn't amount to discouragement.

i'm not saying i'm anywhere near where i need to be in terms of lyrics, but i'm getting better at it because i've constantly written in all my spare time.

so yeah...keep at it. :) you learn what works and what doesn't with your own experience and getting honest feedback from other people, but it is feedback, and you can't please everyone, so you have to keep that in mind.

write for yourself first, and get comfortable with it, then start writing for an audience. :)

quick tip: carry around a notebook with you. everyone says that, but it's true...you get your best ideas when you're not near a pen and paper. you might get it while on a subway, eating lunch, etc. etc. i know i have a box of napkins that i've written and jotted down different poems/lyrics/ideas on and they're all stained and greasy, but they've been some of my best lyrics because they're so spontaneous. :)

anyway, that's it for my rambling. hehe.
