In Dreams (from Fellowship of the Ring)

Unread post by Ranting Thespian » Wed Dec 24, 2003 1:22 am

There is part to the ending music of the movie, and the segement that has lyrics is called the In Dreams song, and then goes into the Enya song. I loved In Dreams so much, I sat down for hours and hours, and came up with a finger picking version of it. Someone heard it from me, and asked for me to post it. So, here is my guitar and vocal of the song In Dreams, which I play all the time, actualy.

it was very nice.

i realize you figured this out by ear, and more props to ya since you did... however since you're covering this song, that is really dry as it is... why not do something to make it your own? the picking feels blocked and choppy.. i think you could take it to a whole new level with some creativity... obviously you have the energy since you figured this song out from scratch =)

the song is solid, vocally and guitarwise, but the guitar definitely lacks any soul.. perhaps becuase of the newness of the song to you?

look into it.. this has some awesome potential.

How is it not my own? I thought I did make it my own with the way I fingerpicked it. I added many more notes to it to fill in the emptiness. Also, I have been playing this since last winter. I have worked out the kinks in the song since then, and this is how I like it. Has really no one else listened to this?

the reason i say make it your own is becuase it souds rather dead. like the soul you have for music isnt in it, and i thuoght it was like that because you either just learned how to play it or it's just a little too difficult... which neither is true... so the rest is up to you.
