Boss pedals

Unread post by EnFuego » Tue Dec 23, 2003 4:55 pm

I was playing around with the Boss AD-3 at the store today and wondered if anybody else has any experience with this. I want something along these lines to help with recording. What other effects pedals should i look at?

I have a boss octave pedal and a compressor/sustain. the octave pedal is really cool, though i wouldn't say i use it all the time.

you may already know this, but harmony-central has a database of user reviews. a lot of them i find to be pretty useful.

http://www.harmony-central.com/Effects/ ... _3-01.html

also, if you type the name of the pedal into a search engine, like Google, you can find reviews that way too. just put quotes around the name, i.e. - "Boss AD3"

hope this helps.

Thanks...I looked at the DD-3 b/c the store I went to didnt have a DD-6. But then I played a line6 DL4 delay modeler. It has digital and analog delay, and a loop sampler, along with a bunch of other crap on it. So I ended up getting the line 6. I have to wait until i get back to school until i can really use it.

Definitely a good choice. You can also use a DD-6 in conjunction with the DL-4 and get some cool effects that way. (Just ask Tim.)

I've kinda worn off of Boss pedals. I had them primarily for electric, but I've sold most of them off. I still have a blues driver (that's not in use and will soon be on ebay). I have their pedal tuner and DD-6 on my pedalboard though...good stuff. But the effects pedals, eh, I'm not a huge fan so much. Their old stuff is cool if you can find that. Also other pedal manufacturers and their old pedals. The new stuff just isn't the same unless you go boutique, and even then it's not quite as cool. check out fulltone and zvex... http://www.fulltone.com and http://www.zvex.com/

they cost more but they're most certainly worth it.
