I think Dave is a Spreadhead

Dave loves Widespread Panic because

A) He has guested with them a couple of times
B) In Folsom Field right before WWYS he says "Havin a Good Time, playin in the sunshine" which is a Panic lyric
C) he used the "magnet for money" part of Dancing Nancies from the WSP song "Papa Legba"

I think it's cool that he is such a big fan

When did Papa Legba debut?

LIGHT FUSE GET AWAY
Released: April 21, 1998?

Nancies debuted in 1992. Unless WP's been playing it live for much longer.

Of course, but have you listened to a Nancies from those days?
The line is there.

Okay,

a) "Magnet for money" has been in the song since UTTAD.
b) "Papa Legba" is a cover of a Talking Heads song, it's not even a WP song.

And, "magnet for money" is a common expression. I wouldn't give anyone credit for its genesis.

To go back to the original point, I don't think the band would tour with someone that they weren't 'into.'

So, yeah, he probably is a fan. I guess I just had to prove a point. :)
