Request for "Accurate" tab = Mother's Night

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Request for "Accurate" tab = Mother's Night

Unread post by c_tietze » Fri May 14, 2004 2:21 pm

Have only seen one or two versions of Mother's Night out there and neither sounds correct.

Any ideas folks? This is a simple song, laziness, however prohibits me from attempting to figure this out on my own. Lol.

Peace

Could someone AIM me at RuttsHutRipper and send me this song? I seem to have deleted it. I'll try to get a more accurate tab when I get a copy of the song.

Code: Select all

 Mother's Night - DMB

The Riff
e------------------------- --------------------------------------------
B------------------------- --------------------------------------------
G------------------------- --------------------------------------------
D------------------x---x-- --------------------------------------------
A--x------x-----x-(2)-11-- --------------------------------------------
E--3p0-0--5--0--3--3/-12-- -3/7--3/7-----------------------------------

That's it. It's quite a simple riff. The song is found on a tape Tim made, before dmb, and maybe before even the beginings of STJL and IBUY. I believe it is just a riff with a poem that Dave wrote that he sang with the riff.

Yeah the riff sounds simple, and looks that way. Thank you very much for taking the time.

I enjoy this little tidbit of music because it does feel like an improv and because it's a glimpse at how Dave's early guitar noodlings have evolved into other songs, some of which much more complex than others.

Thanks again,

CJT
