new outro to YMDT?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

new outro to YMDT?

Unread post by TheGameV30 » Wed Dec 27, 2006 8:12 pm

does anyone know or have the tabs to the reworked outro to You Might Die Trying that they started doing over this past tour? if u have the show from Tampa they did over the internet it's at about the 1 hr 5 min mark. dave plays the start of the normal verse riff and then does the other chords/riffs before going back to the verse riff and i'd really like to know what those other chords are. thanks in advance

I personally like the song. At least I don't mind it as much as other people do.

Just figured it out. I used the YMDT from 8-25-06 as a reference point. Here ya go.

Code: Select all

You Might Die Trying
Outro

Boyd
-----------------
-----------------
-7-9-10-12-------
----------------
-----------------
----------------

or for a fuller sound, you can can add the note an octave higher:

-10-12-13--15-
--------------
-7--9--10--12-
--------------
--------------
--------------

Roi/Rashawn
------------------------------------------------
-10----------10---10----8--------8---8p5-6-5----------
----10----10---------10---9----9-------------5----
-------12-------------------10-------------------
--------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------
I'm stilll trying to figure out Dave's part...

EDIT: Okay, I think I have it

Code: Select all

Dave

e--------------------------------------------------
b-------------------------------------------------
g---------------------------------------------7----
d---------------------------------------------x--
a--8---10--12--8---10--12--8--10-12-8--10-12--5----
E--10--10--10--10--10--10--8--8--8--8--8--8---6----
(I used the West Palm Beach video for that.)

Hey, good work, but upon re-watching the video I figured out that Dave's outro line is this:

Code: Select all

Dave

d----------------------------------------------5-7--5-7----------

Upon watching the Piedmont DVD, here's what I got for the outro part which is the yelling of "if you give.....":
10th fret on low E and A, 12th fret on D and G; then 8th fret on E and A, 10th fret on D and G; then 6th fret on E and A and 8th fret on D and G; then back to 8th fret on E and A and 10th fret on D and G; then just repeat this throughout the rest of the outro. Sorry I don't have software to type out a tab :-(

Ok so the horns have added another section to the outro. If you have Europe '09, it starts at 5:54 of YMDT on the Lucca version. The first part I'm very confident in, however the second part, not so much, but I still think it sounds good. Feedback?

Code: Select all

-12s14--12p10-----------------------------------
