Cool Edit Pro Installed. Now What?

Unread post by IronMike778 » Sat Jan 18, 2003 11:15 am

Ok, So I've got Cool Edit Pro installed. I've got a microphone going into the 'mic' slot on the back of the computer. Now, no sound is being recorded, here's what I've done:

1. I clicked the Red R in track one,
2. Clicked the 'rec 1' button to select my source,
3. Played into mic.

Nothing. No sound being recorded on Cool Edit.
I've also checked the record area of Windows XP to make sure 'mic' is selected and volume is up.

What am I doing wrong? I have a feeling it's a simple solution.

yeah, you sound like me when I first installed it :)

so you click the red R in Track 1 then just click the record button down below - ya know the button with the red spot. and that should do it
good, and you?

to record you must first create a blank waveform. There is a button similar looking to a page in the upper-left corner. click it, click ok, hit record and jam out. Its eaisiest to record in edit view, but I think Xoosh is postin a tutorial on CEP soon.
