Typical Situation/Recently

Two part question, thought i'd tackle two at a time if possible...

first off, i'm been playing for a few years and can sing and play pretty well..however, typical situation (and even seek up) gives me problems singing and playing at the same time...does anyone have there own technique on how they learned how to play and sing these 'picking' songs at the same time? i'm looking for an effective way to learn, cuz mine doesn't seem to be working...maybe it just takes tons of time to get down, but any help would be cool...


and part 2, i got the warehouse 5 song CD with some devil and was listening to Recently...he starts of picking the song (verse) but then really rips away while he's singing...is he palm muting to get that scrape sounds? and also, if he is, is he strumming all the strings or just a a certain few? anyway, i hope the question isn't too confusing...let me know any tips or hints if you can...it sounds damn cool

I find it really hard to sing them two songs as well..

as for recently, i strum adgbe the with muting basicly the whole song.. takes a bit to get down right, but sounds just like the song when you play it right.. i don't have warehouse 5, so i dunno about that one
