What are any major or minor difference between the D-1, DGT, and DM? Some say Mahogany some say Laminated Mahogany, what is the difference? Are they all worth the same?

The DM and D-1's use "laminated mahogany" for the sides/back, but what is the difference between laminated mahogany and genuine, and is there even much of a difference in sound?

Laminated guitars are more or less hard pressed plywood with a plastic covering. They are durable and can take a beating and are a great beginner guitar. However, they do not project as much sound as a solid wood guitar. The sound has to go through 2 layers rather than one. When you play both kinds in a shop they may sound similiar but dont be fooled. The solid wood guitar sound will get better over time whereas a laminated box will never age and may sound worse after a couple years. This will be disputed buy its my opinion. If you have the money, go for a all solid wood guitar or at least a solid front.
