Carter never ceases to amaze me

Unread post by i-am-me » Tue Jan 20, 2004 3:41 am

The man has all the talent in the world. my question is...are there any videos of just him playing? like the camera is on him? i have the billies studio thing, and that's kick ass, but is there anything else? i doubt it....but it would be aw3some if there was one.

On ALOT of the fan based DVD's that are traded there is unreal footage of Carter in all his glory. On their most recent tour, the drum solos he did on Jimi Things just kicked my ass....and they kept getting better from show to show.

He has an instrucitonal video called "under the Table and Drumming".

That's where the Tripping Billies and Say Goodbye comes from.

H ehas two videos. Under the Table and Drummer is just him and he plays #41, Ants, satalite, Say Goodbye, LIOG, plus live Too Much from the enogeration of Clinton and old school Ants with Bela Fleck. H ealso has a video with Victor Wooten and that is awsome too.

yeah the one with victor wooten is awesome. It's funny to watch victor wooten give carter crap. At one point he pretty much tells Carter how to play the drums. It's almost like carter's having trouble keeping up! Kinda funny. But then again, I haven't seen it in a long time, so I may just be remembering something wrong.

Eh, he isnt really givinhg him crap he just neeeds to tell Carter hoiw to count 6/8 time. Its pretty hard to play that stuff from scratch espeacially in 6/8. Carter tries to take everything in a 4/4 time since he was basically self taught.

This is complicated fusion we are talking about here with hits. Stone wasnt easy for drums, but it wasnt really hard. Jazz is way harder then rock. Besides, If you break that stuff down you can get it to a 4/4 type beat. Victors stuff is hard and carter makes it awsome with the fills and ghote note3s in between
