play or write first?
Hey guys, im new to this forum and probly pretty young compared to the rest of you. i have music already laid out for a few songs, but no lyrics. i find it a lot easier to make music first, but i haven't been able to pick lyrics for it. it the same thing vice versa, i can make lyrics by themselves, but then i cant play to them. what do you guys do?

personally, i only have written the music to songs. i could probably put some lyrics to some of them sometime, but i don't want to force it and make the lyrics cliche, so so far i only have the music to some songs. for me, the music just comes naturally and the words are harder to write. for others, its the other way around. i say tomayto, you say tomahto.

actually
actually dave sometimes writes lyrics first, on the making of BTCS, you see him flipping through this book, and it shows the lyrics to crush, stone, and some others.. but for your own sake, you gotta figure out what suits you best, be original and creative
