So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

captain

Im using a tab from another website, and it breaks captain down to verse, chorus, bridge, and coda. what is coda?
what part of the song is the chorus, coda and so on. I've listened countless times to the song from the 3/22/03, show, and im still not sure which part is the chorus and the other for the verse and bridge. any help is appreciated.

Thanks again for putting the tab right with the lyrics. You always do such a masterful job of that.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

When I'm bored, it's always fun. Does that make sense? :?

Yeah. One thing I never realized is how different the tabs Captain and Crazy actually are. I aways thought they were the exact ame thing.

What do you mean? Are you talking about the lyrics? The guitar parts for each song ARE exactly the same.

Haven't you seen the new crazy tab? the roll me back again part has some major changes (some of which makes it sound alot more like the acoustic crazy I have). There are less standard chords in the new crazy, too. The I'm coming back again part has this really weird chord in it that frankly sounds terrible. The why should I part is different but also doen't sound as good as captain.

Oh man, I never noticed that. I don't get it though. He made the tab for Crazy by watching a video, right? So how did it change? Maybe he used a video of Captain and just figured they were the same.

Kanter, can you verify what happened?

Yup...I did. I have different video's of Crazy and Captain....in regards to the lyrics....I will need to edit those. If you don't mind, I will use the ones you put Billy. I just took the crazy tab and changed it for captain. Oh well, that cool?

Go ahead. I like that new version of that song too. Cool chords. I don't really like the sound of the "Why should I" part though.

Coda is a piece of music usually played after a repeat

I have a question about one part, and a suggestion about another.

On the "Why should I..." part, I swear I can hear a bass note on the E string- 5th fret as the 2nd chord (this is after listening to the Lost Acoustics version).

Also, on this part...

Code: Select all

"Roll me back again..."
E:----------------
B:----------------
G:-8------6----9--
D:-4------7----6--
A:-6------7---/7--
E:-7---6--5-------
       2 (2)
It sounds like he does this. It sounds like he plays the first chord for a second and then adds the bass note...tell me if you can hear it.

Code: Select all

"Roll me back again..."
E:--------------------
B:--------------------
G:-8----8------6----9--
D:-4----4------7----6--
A:-6----6------7---/7--
E:------7--6---5-------
           2 (2)
I think this is why there was a debate a while ago about how there might have been a missing chord.

There's another thing. During the "I'm coming back again..." part, theres a really odd chord (4x675-) that sounds weird and I can never figure out where to place it with the other chords. I can't seem to listen for it either.

that chord should be where this chord 4567xx is in Captain.
