Death Metal Dave!
The other night a friend and I were jaming and i have a little drum set and my electric guitar is in my garage and so he was playing the drums. my friend plays death metal and so i was playing sattelite and he says, "if you could play that like four times faster with distortion it would sound really cool." so we ended up playing a bunch of dave songs four times faster and with dark distortion and crazy drums to keep the beat, it was fucking awesome. anyone else ever do that before?

Yeah it was really cool, i'm actually planing on hanging out with his band and showing them a few things. actually, after watching my friend play, death metal isn't that far from how dave plays. ok, its totally different but the whole "sattelite/#34/warehouse" stretch is used quite a lot. he can definetely teach me a lot and since he doesn't even know how to play standard chords he has a ton to learn.
i think its a great finger and struming hand exercise to play dave songs as fast as you can. as long as you've learned how to play the songs right.
"sattelite" is the easiest to play fast, try playing "the stone", or "warehouse", or "rythme and reason"....."BOWA". we played "fool to think", it was amazing. i hope this isn't degrating dmb songs and i don't think i'm gonna get into death metal too much. i think it was just the heavy distortion and my friend playing the drums, since i've never really played with someone else playing the drums along with it. ok, i'm drunk. gonna stop rambling. peace.
