Light Lift Me Up & Jason Mraz

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Light Lift Me Up & Jason Mraz

Unread post by KevinGTArch » Sun Jul 06, 2003 4:03 pm

So I've been giving Jason Mraz a fair chance and he's really not too bad but I noticed something very interesting.

I don't know if anyone has listened to Mraz enough or is familr with Dave's song Light Lift Me Up but I've noticed that Mraz's "After An Afternoon" is based off a riff that is very VERY similary to the one used in Light Lift Me Up.

Give it a listen and let me know what you think. I probably wouldn't have paid much attention to it except that Mraz toured with them Winter 2002.

Mraz > Mayer

Cheers!

I thought it was a soundcheck favorite...

e-------------------------------
B-----2----2-----2------2-----
G-----0----0-----0------0----- (<I sometimes throw a 2 on the G for accent)
D-------------------------------
A---2----3---------------------
E---------------1-----3---------

that is what I have always tinkered with...
