The track is Dm4. No words, and not anything like the last thing I posted. Thanks all!

Edit: New version posted. New strum patterns in a couple parts as well as a new outro dealy.

What up Shane? As always I'm gonna try to ignore the fact that you're a Florida Gator so I can give you an unbiased opinion.  I don't think its too bad, but if you want me to be completely honest with you, I think you can do better. There are some parts where the playing seems a bit sloppy but for the most part I think it sounds like you are just trying to put in too many variations onto every chord. It sounds like the song wants to start going in a really smooth direction then you'll hit a chord that doesnt quite fit. I did like the little outro you played though, don't mess with that one. When I heard that I started thinking to myself that the whole song shoulda had that feel/vibe to it. Keep up the work man and definitely keep posting.

Haha thank you for the attempt at unbias

Thanks for your honesty. A couple questions though - this was simply one time through of each progression. It doesn't have actual song structure, just the progressions I would use in it. If it was actually set up like a song, where the progressions are repeated, would that make it better? Or do you not like the individual chord progressions themselves?

This is more typical of the kind of stuff that I write. I really can't bring myself to write something simple. I love using extensions and stuff that sounds like it's not completely write, but still works. For instance, using a Gmaj and Gm in the same 4 chord progression. I just get bored with regular stuff

Anyway, I'd love to hear if you have any more specific critiques - ie, if there was one particular progression that you really did not like, or if it was just a single chord out of it.

Thanks!

Anyone else have opinions?

just gave it a listen shane, sounds really good. what setup did you use? your higher strings do sound a little to twangy in some spots but the bass and middle notes sound really good. i was going to comment on your chord progression but i think its cool you mix it up and it does sound good, but i feel like theres a few chords leading up to your big G (i think its a G, around halfway through) that sound a little too similar. other than that, it sounds cool

I take every gif I watch (which is A LOT) with a humongous grain of salt. But I don't let that grain of salt get into my eye and blind me to whatever truth can be found in what I'm watching. He is not any worse than any other poster here, and the people who claim he is just don't know what they're talking about. The demonization has gotten ridiculously out of hand.

My set up was just my Les Paul -> Garageband. I would've recorded it through an acoustic pickup if my Godin was tuned to standard. I did a little messing around with the EQ to give it more of an acoustic sound.

I end a couple of the progressions on a G - which progression are you referring to?

This is pretty cool man. I agree with what people said, sounds a little too twangy at parts. Overall though good stuff
