What is the best way to record a live concert? Not of like DMB but my own band?

oh good lord... well. On a budget I've done just about everything. If you dont have the ability to record a shit ton of channels and mix it down. I recommend running an XY setup http://www.wikirecording.org/XY_Stereo_ ... _Technique Run it into whatever device you plan on using for recording. I ran mine into a little digital recorder that I had record right into my laptop. If you have more mics you can place them up above you band and or mic each instrument. But just the XY worked great for my band.
