tripping billies verse

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

tripping billies verse

ok, i think i've got this down pretty much. having a little trouble with the 5/4 slide on the G string while keeping the 8~~~~ ringing and the others muted...any tips?

also, does anyone have a clip of them playing this solo? i play along with Luther College, but timmy and dave's voice are there too, and i just wanna make sure i've got this one perfect. this one came easier than i thought after all the talk about it being so hard. much easier than warehouse or stome IMO...

I just made a clip of this for someone else on the boards a few days ago, I played it the way its on the site and a way with a few extra notes that I think make it sound better. If you want I could send it to you. I dont hold the 8 the whole way through the slide but Im sure you can get that part down on your own just fine, just play it with your pinky so can make the stretch.

Trippings Billies is one of Dave's best guitar works, and one of the more challenging songs to play. Still, once you get it you wow the people around you all though they'll never know that's it tripping billies cause the drums and bass over power the guitar. Too bad, it's such a fun song to play too.

Another thing that you can do.... which I do, is play the 4/5 on the g string but it's on 9/10. Play the bass on E 8 with your index and do the slide with your middle finger. Same notes just on a different string with no stretch :D
