I think I'm looking for a 4 input mixer similar to the Behringer Eurorack... i need at least 3 xlr inputs and 3 guitar inputs (so 4 dual inputs would be ideal). If anyone knows better, please tell me.
I'd like a mixer to use to premix stuff i'm recording AND to play a live show with my band (one vocal, two miced amps, or a miced amp and a direct in, and eventually drum mics and a bass).
We have a PA with 6 inputs... so at worst I could run everyone's instruments (or their miced amps) through the PA directly. My thought is that i'd put the lead electric (through a miced amp), my rhythm acoustic, and the vocals in the mixer then put it into the PA... everything else would go directly into the PA without the mixer. The reason for this is that i'm trying to keep it under $150 since the mixer will be primarily used for solo acoustic gigs and recording solo acoustic stuff. I just want to be able to use it to mix a few things pre-PA. Any suggestions on what I should get and whether I need more inputs to get a passable sound for a live show?
Thanks in advance.

I think this would probably do the job for you just fine.

Live Board
If you're looking for a live board... By far this is as good as it gets for the money.... Don't waste your money on any other board in this price range... 12 inputs...6 XLR!.. It's a MACKIE.. nuff said...

For $250 you can't go wrong...
Only problem is it's not 1 to 1 for the channels.. In other words, you can't record each channel seperately as it only has outpus for the Final Mix...
But if you don't care about that.. then it's perfect.. as it has XLR outpus for your PA and it has sterior RCA outpus if you want to record to something....
It even has some half way (and I stress half way) decent effects built in.....
