Hey everyone, new to the boards and fairly new to the guitar. Love the Dave Matthews Band though. I just started playing not too long ago. Basically, I only know the basic chords. C, A, G, E and D. I really want to eventually get to the point where I can play Dave songs and stuff, but I know I can't get right into that. Any tips in general? I'm still having trouble changing chords. Can't seem to get a smooth transition without having to think about it for a second and take it slowly.
Basically I'm just looking for any tips in general. Should I take lessons? What are some good sites that have beginning guitar lessons? Etc, etc.
Anything would be great. Thanks.

DMBTabs, Welcome to it!
Work on playing through simple chord progressions until you get the changes really smooth, then try the same progression with a different rhythms. Try to find some easy songs to play like Blues Traveler - Run Around and Sister Hazel - All For You. They are pretty basic progressions.
I would also suggest learning a little basic music theory, like what Major chords and Minor chords together make for good progressions.
Good Luck

Can't say it enough.
I wouldn't know about a page in english.
But something you are going to hear a lot is: practice!!!! And that's the only real tip there is.
Work on those chords again and again, and of course, it would be great if you could get lessons, that will make you improve a lot faster than trying to learn on your own.
Just don't quit at first, and keep your chin up, the guitar can be your most horrible enemy sometimes.
At first work on chords and changes, then go to Barred chords (like F and B). Later try working some scales and finger movement.
And don't lose practice strumming-wise, try to make your upstrum as good as your downstrum, and decide whether you want to use a pick or not.
