I finally learned how to play my first DMB song!
So I've been playing on and off for a little over a year now and I could never be able to play a whole DMB song start to finish...I gave up on Crush (couldn't get the rhythm down...the chord changes were fine). But today I told myslef I was not going to put the guitar down until I learned one. And I am happy to say that I can now completely play Bartender and DDTW...and I can do that cool little change between the two like Dave does sometimes. Those are two awesome songs to my first to learn.
Next up, I'm thinking Tripping Billies.....just kidding, I'm determined to get the rhythm on Crush now.

Congrats to you. I'm happy that you managed to get a Dave song down. We all know that alot of them can be really tricky, and even the simpiler ones can cause some problems.
The first one I learned was Granny. Then I learned the 'Dave Chords' and learned a few more that are primarily those chords. (i.e. Grey Street, Two Step, etc.) Then moved on to stuff like Lie In Our Graves.
If you're like me, now that you've learned a song by him, you're just gonna keep learning more. And trust me when I say that it only gets easier to pick them up.

yeah and even really good quitarists will turn there head when they hear them, there is juust something very new and yet timeless in the style.sfmartins wrote:Congratulations! Keep it going. You'll have a lot of fun playing Dave's songs...
