ugh my friend is a dummy

Welp, my situation is that me and a friend of mine get together every friday and jam our asses off. I dare say we aren't too shabby at it.

The problem is - is that he wants to get recorded. IE: some kid he knows knows another kid with recording equipment. What does that mean for me? Well, a shitty recording for one - and two, would be possible embarrassment. How so? because our little band is just two instruments. Me on guitar, and him on guitar.

My real question is - would it be smart to get ourselves recorded now by someone we don't know? Or get an entire band together and then get recorded by someone we don't know?

Well, suppose this friend of a friend of a friend really knows his sh*t when it comes to recording, wouldn't it be fun for you and your buddy to record some jams? Even if it's just for fun. I LOVE recording, most of my stuff is completed solo songs, yes, but my brother and I jam every week, him on drums, and myself on guitar, and I'd love to record it sometime, I'm just too lazy to get my laptop and MobilePre down to church.

Bottom line: it could never hurt to give it a shot. If you're serious about doing some recording, you gotta start somewhere, right?

You might as well. I've had a lot of fun recording with my friends.

Be warned though--recording can be a stressful process at times.
