Help with this song

I am looking for the title/band of this particular song that has a chorus like; "Leaving on a southern train... Promises is what I said to you." There is also something during two verses that the singer says "Breathing, is the hardest thing to do..." It's a rock/grudge song that came out in the 90s, it sounds like STP but I am not sure. Any help would be great. Thanks guys.

It is STP. It's called "Interstate Love Song."
