Cool Edit Help (asap)

hey.... i have cool edit pro 2.0 for recoridng and it owrked fine UNTIL TODAY!! when i bought a quater inch jaack to plug my guitar directly into the comp. okay it works fine but for sum reason now it will only record and paly with the left speaker!!! and the PAN is on 0! .. so i treid it with windows recording program and it plays back in both oso i know its the software.... anyway, i then put the PAN all the wayy to the right to see if i could balance it out, but sitll only the left..... anyone know wats going on? (yes i chekced the speakers balance in control panel) anyway.. any help is good help.. thanks

uh yes, it will do that. just do a channel mixer.

Make sure you have the 1/8" adaptor plugged into the Mic input. That's a stereo input. If it's in the Line In, it's Mono, more specifically left channel only. Check that first.

you're 100% right, but imo it's just pointless to record in stereo when a guitar pickup isn't

I had the same problem and as was mentioned, realized I set it to stereo like a moron.
