I am writing this review as i listen...

Stay sounds good...i have never agreed completely with the tab on this site, but it sounds good anyway..you play it well

GASP!.. dare i say, i think you're rythm for the tripping billies intro is a little off..(timing from first chord into second chord)

i think the lie in our graves rythm could be better, especially the jam part, i dont think he plays it that harshly...if you even know what im talking about

stone sounds good, but the sound quality was muffled, but didnt effect the playing of course..i think your chorus part of this song was missing a small strum..i love that violent outro, i always play that heavily

i guess i'm not up on all dave's songs, cause i didnt recognize the next one, sounded good though...

BOWA is good, the rythm (more specifically the timing) i use for this song is much different than yours, although i havent been playing it for very long...i was thinking of covering it pretty soon.

WWYS is very clean, poppy, good

don't recognize the next one, oh wait #40...the only time i have ever heard this is on Live in chicago, anyway, sounds good, good rythm, pretty simple i think

well, that's all!!! i love yer guitar, can't wait to get some money!

hey billy...thanks for the reply...I dunno..I took another look at tripping billies, and I couldn't really find anything wrong with the intro? I think I have a pretty good ear for these things too...maybe you could post more in what you mean, or show a clip or something? thanks for the compliments on the others bro...I thought if anyone was gonna say something that it would be about "stay"....but anyway, I'm all ears!...lates!

The rythym of the TB intro is slightly(very tiny) off...But who cares? It still sounds fine. I have heard Dave fumble that intro as well. I can play that part very precisely but I find myself getting off the rythym every once in awhile. I Kind of fast forwarded through most songs that you had there --catching the intro, verse and chorus of each song. They sound fine. Im surprised it took you awhile to get "Stay".. You seem to play the other songs pretty well which are alot harder than "Stay".

Peace

i would have to disagree with the" stay" part, i think that is one of the most difficult rythms to get down...and for the billies intro, i just think jason is staying on that first chord for a second too long, it's still hard to explain.

I was referring to the chord structures.....The rythym can be tricky but nothing practice won't take care of. Smoke a few bongs and play, play, play, play, play.

Sounds pretty damn good, helped me out a little bit too. I just had one question that I thought of when I was listening to LIOG, does anyone play the second part this way instead?

Code: Select all

E:-2----------------------------------------
B:-3--------------------1-------------------
G:-2----------2---------2--0h2--0-----------
D:-0--0--2/4-----4--0---2----------4--2--4--
A:------------------------------------------
E:------------------------------------------

Ive heard him play it this way and I think it sounds better, anyone else?
I know its very minuted I just noticed it.

lol...you know what...it sounds like to me that you're not strumming the first chord long enough...there needs to be one more "chicka" so to speak...I listened to luther college, and another concert in my car and dave plays it just the way I play it...I'll check out storytellers when I get home...as it is possible that we are both right...but i think I have a good ear for this sort of thing...anyway, check out luther and tell me what you think, as I will check out storytellers and let you know...
