Anyone going to the Gorge shows?
Just got my tix for the 3 nights!!! i'm pumped. To anyone who has been, whats the best way to do it. Since a Florida to Washington road trip is out of the question, is flying into Seattle and renting a car the best way????

seattle is on the other side of washington but it tends to be the most common airport people fly into. I say look at a map and see what other aiorports are closer and compare prices.Lexington Steele wrote:Just got my tix for the 3 nights!!! i'm pumped. I was only able to see the first night last year but this year i'm planning for all three. We should totally set up a meeting place before the show(s).
Like in the parking-lot or some place we can all jam out. I remember the last few years, i was randomly asking people if they go to dmbtabs.com. Never found anyone yet though, where were you guys?

GORGE 2005 OR BUST!!! Just got all three this morning.
During one of the afternoons between shows we ought to get a whole huge dmbtabs.com jam session together.

Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

yes, I've been. DO NOT camp in the ticketmaster campground. The only good thing about it is that you can walk from the campground to the venue. Every other campground you have to either drive or shuttle (but almost all offer a shuttle, which is really the best way to go because Washington St. Police conduct massive DUI busts.)Sort Of A Protest Song wrote:Is that where everybody goes? Have you been there before?mbgreen wrote:DON'T get the campground tickets they sell on ticketmaster. They cram your ass into a big field with no trees and it's hot as hell. Getty's Cove is where it's at if you want to drink beer and party.
The TM campground doesn't have any shade at all, and they cram you in like sardines. The best place is Getty's Cove ( http://www.gettyscove.com ). The rest of the area is pretty barren, but they have trees and it's next to the colombia river, so it's nice there. They have 50 reservable sites and 150 first come, first serve sites. I think the first come first serve sites are nicer, but you have to get there Wednesday or Thurs morning at the latest to get a decent one. There will still be spots later, but they'll be in the less-desireable areas.
If anyone has any questions about the gorge, feel free to ask. I did my homework when I went, so I have a pretty thorough knowledge of the entire area.
