solid body guitars

Unread post by Ranting Thespian » Tue Jan 18, 2005 12:30 am

I think for the stage the chet would be better, but in the studio the godin would be better

I've never played a crowdster, though.

I'd choose the Godin, since I would like to have a guitar that is good in studio.

if we were going JUST by looks, i'd pick the Crowdster.

For best studio sound, i'd pick the Crowdster, and for best live sound i think i'd pick the Crowdster too.

around $2500. it beats the crap out of a chet and a godin though.

well nick, as you and i have gone back and forth on. yes i can say the godins are really nice, so are the chets, so are the crowdsters... but also the taylor 914ce is nice... but it just doesnt seem to work with dave, hes got the same pickup as his chets have, but something is lost in translation i guess. so yea all of those are great guitars, but what dave workds best on who knows... and btw a godin would kick the crowdsters ass in the studio.

I can't stand the looks of the crowdster, sorry. I love the chet, but I also think it is a little lacking for studio/solo work. I've never heard the Godin though. More links?

thats the one dave owns...
We think he owns that one. We just see a quick glimpse of it during the first new album video.

I can drive again next week (my seizer took my license away for 3 months, and I can't wait to drive again), so I am going to the music store and try out these Godins. They sound good, but I havn't played one.

im 90% sure thats what hes got, his had that style of tuning instruments, that means multac series, had a spruce top, and the hole under the neck to let sound in to reverberate... so thats pretty much the multac duet. could be the multac SA, cause the one in the video seems to have had an ebony fretboard.
