making a slide

im interested in making my own slide out of a wine bottle or something. im not sure how to cut the glass and such. if anyone has done this/knows a good way to do it, please let me know :D

You can always cut the glass with like a soddering iron or something like that.

i just did it. i cut with a hacsaw and smoothed out with a dremmel

get a peice of pipe from home depot and cut it down to size..
Shows Been to: 7-17-02, 12-15-03, 7-20-04, 7-5/6-05

but the glass neck has a curve to it so it fits the shape of the neck, plus its bitchin glass!

hey, i was just wondering about your guitar. To play good slide your guitar action shouldnt be low like one would have playing slap pop tapping style. just a note.

ya, i know about the action and stuff, i already play a fair amount of slide, nothing too impressive, just some fun shit. but the only thing i have is a metal slide, and i know glass gives better tone on acoustics, and i thought making one would be sweet

actually, if you look at a slide guitar it has uber high action to prevent buzzing. but you can play with low action.
