I have two Larry's and really like them both. I have a D-02 (mahog back and sides) and an L-03R (rosewood). Praisedave, next time your looking for a new guitar check out their 03 line. You can get a new one for 600-700 or so and a used one cheaper yet. The only difference between the 03 and 05 series is cosmetics.

Sometimes a particular guitar just has "it". I don't even know what "it" is but you know it when you hear it.praisedave wrote:you are very decisivefilmdude100cms wrote:yep i was gonna get a 03 larry until i decided to build a guitar, then i decided to get an epi chet, and use the save money to buy tools and parts.hcole wrote:I have two Larry's and really like them both. There's an amazing Larrivee LV-10E at http://www.samusic.com in the dutch auction. Koa back and sides, cutaway, B-band A2, that shit makes me tingle down below.
I recently read an article about factory made guitars. The general idea was that each individual soundboard has to be voiced seperately and in a factory setting that's just not possible. So some guitars will get the perfectly matched soundboards and sound amazing, most will sound good, and a few will be DOA. That's why it's important to play several different guitars even if it's the same model. I thought that was interesting.praisedave wrote:thats exactly how id put it. i cant even really explain it, everything about the guitar was perfect.hcole wrote:Sometimes a particular guitar just has "it". If you're really thinking about getting it wait for a while. You might be able to grab it for less than 2k. Unless of course you NEED a car.praisedave wrote:thanks mike thats good info... for about a second i seriously considered blowin my car account ive been saving since i was like 10 on this guitar. it is soooooo niceMWR wrote:I recently read an article about factory made guitars.
