Spoon and an original

Unread post by gregplaysguitar » Wed Nov 17, 2004 5:28 am

So, I believe I posted the version of Spoon a while back, but I thought I'de share it with ya again for old times sake. Also, I found an acoustic "sketch" w/ electric guitar also, of an instrumental that I was working on and forgot about, so I'm putting that up as well. I play in a DMB cover band that also does originals and you can check out some of them here:

Spoon and Others

We started off as a guitar duo with vocals and have added a kick ass drummer, bass player, and sax player so were really developing our sound now. Good times, plus people love the dave music. Any comments are much appreciated. OH, I only sing on the "Greg Goforth random recordings", my buddy phil sings on the "Greg and Phil" stuff.

I think you forgot one :D

Spoon sounded really good, the beginning of PNP sounded kind of weird to me.

The beginning of the solo in spoon sounded like it could use some work, but the singing sounded great.

wow, thanks, Yeah, my buddy was playing lead, and he's a great lead player, but he was using a sound hole pickup, that for whatever god awful reason, wouldn't pick up the G string. So he's doing the bela banjo solo and the sound just completly droped out, and it sounds like he messed up. I know what you mean though. Thanks for the comments.

I listened to spoon. Excellent cover, nice work Greg. I like your voice. You've got a good natural tone. I was hoping you'd go for the falsetto, dammit. The solo's kicked ass. I'll listen some more of your stuff later. :D

Not in this lifetime! Well, actually, if someone could come up and kick me in the nuts at just the right time I might be able to hit 'em.
