Beyond the basics in song writing...
Hey, when it comes to song writing, i usually go with the basic chords and a rhythmic strumming pattern. I heard some of the original on the Rocording Board, it s just awesome, how do you get beyond this stage? How do i become a more advanced song writer?

Become a better musician; study up on your theory. After a while, you'll start being able to improvise like never before because you'll know what you're doing. You'll make chords up as you go along, be able to pretty much play the music as it comes to you in your head, etcetera. It just takes a lot of time, studying, and practice with your instrument of choice (in this case it would be the guitar, I believe?). Here's a place I always recommend for people to start with:

Of course practice and study never hurt. I think what will help you in the long run is to listen to a wide array of music.. I know that's obvious but it's true. What leads to your own style and originality is the mixture of all your influences.
That and learn practical theory. Study chord progressions and melody.
