Hey everyone,
I recorded this song this evening and I honestly put everything I had into my playing. I'm curious to know if it's apparent in my voice and the overall recording. I don't want to get too personal, but I've recently split up with my long-time girlfriend and this song, albeit oftentimes somewhat cliched, really hit home and it felt great to play.
As for the recording, for the rhythm guitar I used my Martin D-28 and for the solo that appears after the bridge I used my 50th Anniversary Telecaster. I didn't want to make the solo too busy. It's somewhat smooth and uses a lot of slides as I thought that sound was somewhat reflective of the song. My microphone is an EV N/D267.

Here are the lyrics (Poison):
We both lie silently still
in the dead of the night
Although we both lie close together
We feel miles apart inside
Was it something I said or something I did
Did my words not come out right
Though I tried not to hurt you
Though I tried
But I guess that's why they say
Every rose has its thorn
Just like every night has its dawn
Just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song
Every rose has its thorn
I listen to our favorite song
playing on the radio
Hear the DJ say loves a game
of easy come and easy go
But I wonder does he know
Has he ever felt like this
And I know that you'd be here right now
If I could have let you know somehow
I guess
Every rose has its thorn
Just like every night has its dawn
Just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song
Every rose has its thorn
Though it's been a while now
I can still feel so much pain
Like a knife that cuts you the wound heals
but the scar, that scar remains
I know I could have saved our love that night
If I'd known what to say
Instead of makin' love
We both made our separate ways
Now I hear you found somebody new
and that I never meant that much to you
To hear that tears me up inside
And to see you cuts me like a knife
I guess
Every rose has its thorn
Just like every night has its dawn
Just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song
Every rose has its thorn
Thank you for comments.

I take every gif I watch (which is A LOT) with a humongous grain of salt. But I don't let that grain of salt get into my eye and blind me to whatever truth can be found in what I'm watching. He is not any worse than any other poster here, and the people who claim he is just don't know what they're talking about. The demonization has gotten ridiculously out of hand.
