Here we go. Post your favorite chord that has a strange combination of notes. Away from major triads we go!

Bm aug5
Strange because it has both the fifth and the aug fifth.

i use it mostly as a Gmaj(no1).. which has no G in it. could be used as a Bm(no5) though.

and how about... 0476x5 for a simple Amaj!?

I love this one from Nancies:

Code: Select all

I use that one to practice making up lyrics and playing at the same time because it's low and simple. I also like this one from "What will become of me?" (I think ... don't have my guitar in front of me)

Code: Select all

Here's a rare chord:

e-0
B-0
G-0
D-2
A-2
E-0

I think it's E minor.

J/K

I love the sound of the chords in WWBOM as mentioned above.

The first four chords just sound so sweet.

That's why I really like Dave's style because of his heavy use of muted strings and alternating bass notes.

I dunno if this one counts, but I like the sound of it a lot. Works well with E. I think it might be a variation of F#m/E or something.
