a $300 acoustic/electirc cutaway just sounds to me like its goin to be cheap. You could get a nice $300 acoustic but when you throw in electics and a cutaway it seems like the price should be higher if you want quality. Im sure I wont be the last to tell you to look at Alvarez's, theyre very good in the low price range, I dont really care for the rounded back of Ovations but when it comes down to it its your guitar. Make sure you go play it and others, find out which one YOU like the most for that price range and make sure you want electronics and all that also.

Ovations and Ibanez's piss me off so much.

I would recommend to get a few more moneys in your wallet and getting an alvarez. You HAVE to play them first, Alvarez's can be some of the best and some of the worst

Ovations are pieces of poo, for the most part. Unplugged they sound god awful, plugged in is where the right ones sound good.

Always, always, always play the guitars. Don't rule out on words. I tried everything before I found my guitar, so try it all and see what has a nice sound.
