I have a Dean Frana Nouveau that is a double cutaway acoustic/electric. I had played a lot of Deans in the past and all of them are well made for the price. My Dean is one of the top three acoustic guitars that I own and is up there along with my two Gibson's. People have a tendency to knock Dean's but remember it is not all about the name but how the guitar's playability is to you!
Not everyone can go into major debt to buy a Taylor or Martin. Taylors are incredible guitars but my feeling on many Maritn's that I have played is one of wonderment because I was not impressed with the sound.
In an acoustic it is all about the wood and type of bracing that brings out the sound
Peace

Wow, welcome to the board newguys...

I regularly discourage people from buying Deans, but if yours makes you happy, more power to ya. My boy has a solid topped tradition that rules, but I would say that's the exception.

Just a warning not to grind that saddle down unless you've got an accurate set of digital calipers and you take a lot of care. Lowering the action is more than lowering the saddle you could be moving into buzz city: population Dean Key Largo.
