he hits a G at 355 with "stop" and then i use trippin' billies type chords, 5xx6, 7xx7, 2xx2 for each of the other lyrics. once you hit the chords you'll know what lyrics go with each one.

thanks alot guys

for the stop old and wise part, do you place your index finger in between the A & D strings to mute? is that the best way to do it? i'm using the #3 & #4 fingers to strike the E and G strings...

is this right?

thankx

I play this for the Stop - (3-x-0-0-3-x) which is pretty much the same as 3-5-5- except I like the sound of the open notes. about the muting the A and D strings, I use whatever finger I'm fretting the Low E with to lay over them to mute em out.
good, and you?

and also, I put the finger #s on the bass notes here on Kanter's tab:

Code: Select all

E:-3---------------------------------
B:-3---------------------------------
G:-0--5/7--5---7---2---6----2----9---
A:-0--x----x---x---x---x----3---(5)--
D:-2--x----x---x---x---x----3----x---
E:-3--5/7--5---7---2---5----1----8---
       3 1 3 1 1 1 3
good, and you?

it means its optional, it fits in the with the chord nicely but you don't have to play it, dave doesnt.

Yes.

and for the 8-x-x-9 chord, I actually slide up with my 2nd finger and play this 8-7-x-9. It just fills the sound in a bit more like in Two Step.

and yeah I use the pinky for the G string when I use my ring finger for the low E string. I use my middle for the G when I use my index for the low E.
good, and you?
