HOwie Day Ghost question

I really like this song and have been learning to play it. Question: Has anyone played this solo without all the pedals and effects? If so what strum pattern did u use? Also what count is it in.
I am thinking its a 4/4 count And as far as strum goes = dduuu
Any help would be great.

When I don't use the pedals I just strum it regular like I would with the pedals. The pedals are just adding all the extras like Drum beat, bass line and fills.

sorry this is really bad but this is how i learned to play it. the very first part of the strum is just the base note only....with the rest of the strum being filled out by the barre chord.... the very last sequence (with the up's and down's are part of the suspension)....you can get away with just strumming it as a whole but it'll really sound like the song if you start it off with the bass notes....especially the e string.

sorry this is really bad....i'm not versed in theory so i can't give you a better description of this but this is how i play the song and it works.

I absolutely love to play this song. http://www.howiefan.com has a great ghost tab. DuduDuDUdUDuDuDu is the main strumming pattern I use for that song, but I fiddle around and switch it up for all those added pinky notes when he plays the E chord.

P.S. isnt it C#m A E? (not Am?)

cry freedom, didnt think of that one...I was thinking the first half of the crash verse...the album version of ghost even throws in the B bass note, which makes it a little more obvious. the changes are off, but the progression is the same. I noticed it when I read an article describing ghost as a "Dave matthews esque song about lost love" or something like that
