The Passion(again)

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Does anyone know what effect tim uses on the intro before dave starts yelling? It sounds like dave yelling but it's not. i know someone knows cause i heard a clip someone did and they used it. Thanks.

sometimes on d&t concerts, I have heard time to time Dave's voice with a delay and/or reverb. I have heard it on some full band minaretes when he does the scat intro.

As for effects that Tim uses, it would be one of his line 6 things or his Boss check out timreynolds.com and it lists all the guitars he has used and all the equipment from the past to the present.

I think what dmfollower is talking about it is when Tim uses an infinite delay on a single note then slows its down which makes that low growling sound. Howie Day does a similar think at the end of Karma Police. If anyone actually knows the tab for Tims part during the passion intro feel free to hook it up.

And ironically enough, Howie Day does it at the begining of his cover of Minarets. I have the MP3 of it and he does it with his voice by saying "OOO" into the mic then slowing it down.

I just tried it on my DD-3, and I'm sure you can do it on the DD-6 too. Just hit a note right, hit the hold on the pedal, then reach down and turn the "delay time" clockwise to slow it down. It turns it into a low drawn out sound....

I'm looking into putting up the Howie Day Cover if anybody wants...

You want to know something creepy?

If you've ever heard chakra chants and the like, the chant for the 7th and highest (crown) chakra is in the key of B, as is the passion intro and the rest of warehouse. Oddly enough, the bija chant for this chakra is OM. Not only does dave where an OM necklace around his neck, but the passion intro sounds like of of those chakra chants.

You can tell I've officially become a hippy.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away
