A good switch

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

A good switch

Unread post by dmfollower » Sun Apr 25, 2004 11:38 pm

i was just playin and noticed that lover lay down is a great follow-up to crash. You just end crash on the E and then instead of starting the 20023 chord just go into lover lay down. i like it. i'm gonna use that :)

Good idea. (In badly dubbed kung-fu movie voice) The shau lin love songs from east and west unite to fight and find out who is number one.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

That's an awesome switch, I just used it, and I must say, you've definitely got something with this. Both songs are great to play, and being able to go right into the other in a heartbeat is awesome. Good work! :-D

I'll bet you get a lot of women with that combination.

That is a pretty cool switch. I've kinda been working around with one between One Sweet World and Recently...

Play this part a little slower than usual to end OSW (kinda like on L@LC)

E:----------
B:----------
G:-----7---
D:---8------
A:-6--------
E:-------6--

then go in to this to start Recently

"People stare..."(Slow)
E:---------------------------------
B:---------------------------------
G:---------------------------------
D:-------------0----------------0--
A:-----0---3-----------/8----------
E:-3---------------3--------8------

or you could start with this

E:-------------------------
B:-------------------------
G:----4--------5-----------
D:-------0--3--------5--5--
A:----------------3--------
E:-3-----------------------

06/30/04 - Toronto

Aww Cute. But what pisses me off is when I'm all bustin out songs like Oh and SMTS that are significantly harder, This dick I know comes up and pulls out crash, doesn't even play it half as well or correct as I can and all the damn girls swoon. I almost think some chicks are intimidated by super good guitarists. I'm all rocking out with harmonic minor and blues scales and they walk away.

I always play Dreamed I Killed God and flow into Big Eyed Fish, then cut into Crash. Lead them into a world of depression and then pull them out of it.
Stay with me, safe and ignorant.

Ive done that before, the DIKG -> BEF. Its such a smooth transition too. Its quite a depressing segue tho....
