"I'll Back You Up" Cover

Unread post by GreedylilPig » Sun Apr 11, 2004 11:23 pm

Hey guys, I had some time this evening to record a song and I decided to do I'll Back You Up. In my opinion it's one of the most sincere love songs of all time. I played around with the guitar solo a little bit but it's not too far off base. Any comments/suggestions are very welcome and greatly appreciated.

the only complaint i have with this is the solo. it's flat and it also falls a little flat, too. you were a little off tempo during it at times...but otherwise another phenomenal job, brian. :) i always enjoy your covers. i think maybe increasing the volume of the solo would've helped give it a little more oomph, and also more emphasis on each note.

brian, sorry i didn't get to this right away, i've been busy the last few days

again, like your other work, i really enjoyed this

the solo, like isaac said, was probably the only thing that needed work...it just didn't feel like a solo, it didn't really feel like it stuck out

but, good job, thanks for the post

i liked that imense amounts. it was very enjoyable to hear. the guitar was right on, maybe turn it up a little, but i tend to have the guitar on my recordings too loud sometimes so get another opinion on that

quality of vocals was narly too.

i agree that the solo lacked a bit, but not too much. the second half of the solo was fine, but the begining needed a few more higher notes.
but not a bad solo at all, in fact, i liked it, but it was the lower point of the recording

nice job. can't wait to hear another

Definently a recording to be proud of...the vocals were on key but it felt like needed to add a little of your own flava I guess. Guitar was really solid and I thought it was a very consistant recording over all. I'm impressed!
