at least you're not old enough to actually remember seeing them when they were good. you were 9 when they had their best tour in double ought. wow. it really sucks to be your age with this band.

They'll always be my all-time favorite band, but lately I don't find it worth the ticket prices and having to endure the shitty crowds and parking lots any more. The sets are usually blah (except this year has potential). The thing that bothers me most is that I know exactly what's going to happen in each song as far as solo spots, general melodies of said solos, etc. I dunno, whatever.
Exactly how I felt on Saturday night. I was pretty bored most of the time. My girlfriend and I got there early so we were right up on the rail on the lawn, pretty good spot. When Two Step started playing we walked to the top of the hill so we could start beating traffic.
We always get to SPAC early to get against the rail as well, and last year was the first time we walked up on the last songs to the top of the hill to beat traffic. Kinda backfired N2 of last year though when we thought they were ending with Watchtower then went right into Halloween. Still, I've lost a lot of interest to keep seeing them.

i didn't see them last year but feel the same way about ticket prices/being bored. I remember seeing them night 1 at burgettstown in 06 and being totally into it, but then two months later i saw them at blossom and was so bored/put up with a terrible lawn crowd. like brian, i left during two step that night to beat traffic. in 07 and 08, even though i got to check some never seens off my list (sweet up and down), putting up with drunks in the lawn killed the vibe.

that said, ill be still be going to their pnc park show this year with a lot of friends and i'm hoping for a good time. since there's no lawn i'm cautiously optimistic for a better crowd
