This might have been posted in another topic, but everytime i hear trouble with you start I think I'm gonna hear sting start to sing. sounds like an old school police jam or something. anyone else get that vibe????

Trouble with You definitely has a Police-vibe. It's Carter. He's sounds like Stuart Copeland. What a great track.

Yea, Carter has that same Fool to Think vibe going (which a paged ripped right out of Copeland's book) and the guitar reminds me of Mayer's Beam Me Up Scotty.

don't kid yourself and don't fool yourself
this love's too good to last and i'm too old to dream

don't grow up too fast don't embrace the past
this life's too good to last and i'm too young to care

don't kid yourself and don't fool yourself
this life could be the last and we're too young to see

i don't have the dvd yet, but from what i remember seeing on the dmbstandup.com vid i don't think that sounds right.. he plays F9 to E9, not E9 to Eb9, and the A is minor.. the general progression of the song is F F E E Am G F#, so i'd go with more like this:

Code: Select all

e------------|--------|
b-8--8-7--7--|--------|
g-8--8-7--7--|--------|
d-7--7-6--6--|-7--5-4-|
a-8--8-7--7--|-7--5-4-|
E------------|-5--3-2-|
i don't know how the repeating would go, like if he plays that again or if he stays lower on the neck.. but i don't know about the F# F F# A E thing you have at the end there

I didn't think he played that at all, but I didn't look closely. It looked like he only played power chords.

the first two chords are 9th chords for sure. I think that wolf's tab that he just put up is the closest to the right way

anyone notice the similarity between Minarets and Dream Girl?

Dream Girl

e----------------------------------------------
b----------------------------------------------
g---------------------------6-4-2---2h4-4---
d----9-7-6--6h7-6------4--------4----------
a--7-------7----------------------------------
E----------------------------------------------
well the first little bit any ways.

Hello Again on this site is just wrong ... I watched Dave play it at Roseland and again on AOL and he is playing other shit besides what is on the Tab in the Song List

Unless I've lost the ability to read tab of course.

Which, apparently I may have.
