I meant that, I have never before realised that when people refer to SRV they are refering to Stevie Ray Vaughn. I have never been that familiar with his work. (Of course I am biased because I loathe and despise modern country music.)

No, I'm merely saying that with all the shitty country music out there these day, it can be easy to overlook country musicians who are actually very good. Hell, I didn't care a damn for Emmylou Harris until I saw her open for Dave. Right now, after buying her new album, and watching her play with Dave and Friends on dmbontv.com, I think she is a friggen musical goddess.

yea really, one thing SRV is famous for is playing hendrix better than hendrix (opinion, not necessarily mine) and really making a name for blues guitar. not really sure where u got the country genre idea from but you really should check SRV out, ive never met anyone who doesnt absolutley love his style and i really think you'd appreciate his music

it's easier to build off of a piece of music then to build it from scratch. (SRV building off of hendrix's stuff, and making it more difficult) but then again, SRV has some pretty crazy originals also.

to not hijack the thread... LS is better. :)

I completely agree, Stevie did make little wing and vodoo chile better (in my opinion) but your exactly right it's easier to build off of something than to create it, but even with said I like Stevie more, and I also think that Listener Supported is better, the setlist has more of a flowing jam feeling to it, it's easier to watch start to finish, and not just because it's one disc :D

Stevie over Jimmy (I like the acoustic better)
CP over LS.
