Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

i just purchased martins, mediums, for no other reason than the price, not bad, alot of sound compared to the elixer custom lights that i used before. My problem was i was popping stings like mad. They squeak quite a bit, but good stuff.

Boy oh boy , i haven't played with Elixirs in like forever , never used them on my Memphis guitar , but as some of you may know , i've ordered some strings which got delayed a bit , so i went to my local dealer and thought about trying them out , so i bought PolyWeb's .10's , damn these fuckers are slippery  they have a good sound though , just gotta get used to them , so different from uncoated strings , so when you think you're sliding to the 5th fret , you'll end up on the 9th

LOL, yeah, I totally know how that feels, it takes some time to get use to strings that you played that were uncoated, and then jumping to coated one. Definitely can be a different feeling ;-)

I think it feels like somebody threw chicken grease on my geetar.

I tried out some polywebs last week, and I was missing one of the wound strings, so I left the older one on. After playing the elixir strings, it felt like my skin was getting ripped off on that one string.

I still don't like elixirs on my D-15, they sound 'plastic-y' to me. I am using the EXP16's and will probably stick with those. I find them a nice balance between uncoated and coated.

The important thing is to match the sound of a set of strings to the sound of your guitar. I use nanos to balance out the boomy-ness of my 1970 Yamaha.
