Actually, every member of the band encourages it. They do it at every show. It doesn't bother me.

I love it, I like any chance the crowd has to get into the music. I like when daves lets us yell the part to ants. Its just cool to me

That's awesome! I loved on Driven how they played a show and the fans knew the words and they hadn't even released anything at that time...

John Mayer lets the fans sing a few times too. I love doing that, plus Dave and the band seem to enjoy it when we know the words

Gawd, if I wrote a song and it became famous enough so that people all knew the words and then when I sang it live they sang along, I have an orgasm. Phew.
