people should really know how a guitar works. how to adjust a truss rod is not hard at all. just to know how to upgrade a guitar. i put in a strap pin on the heel of 2 guitars lasst week and it was easy. it cost like 10 bucks for the parts. but if i had some guy do it it would have cost about 70 for both.
there are so many sites about routine guitar maintenance that none of us have excuses for not knowing how to fix these minor things.

Amen. i think it should be the second thing you learn right after tuning. surprisingly people don't learn either.
