does behringer stuff have long term reliability issues?

Anyone have experience with this? It is dirt cheap for what you are getting, concerned about quality of the speakers, all the reviews say the cables suck but that is not a big deal to me.

I have heard some bad things about Behringer, but I haven't had any personal experience. I've had a little 4 channel mixer that I sometimes use for recording for about 8 years and that has never had any issues. I also have a Behringer rackmount compressor that has never failed me. I have never tried their speakers or other PA gear though.

I still say Yamaha is a good bet. My Yamaha PA is about 6 years old and is more than I've ever needed for a gig. Sometimes in smaller places I only bring one of the speakers and it fills the place with sound nicely on about "2." But I've also used it for outdoor gigs where more sound is needed and I've never had any kind of distortion or other problems. And I think the sound from the Yamaha speakers is fantastic.

^^^^ I support this post. I used a pair of Yamaha S115V speakers outdoors recently and they sounded fantastic. Didn't even need a sub.

my band is currently using two JBL JRX125's with a JBL JRX118S 18" sub. If you're looking at size setup you're going to need a power amp as well. A powered mixer wouldn't be practical to fuel this big of a system. for the mixer we're actually skimping right now and using the Behringer XENYX 1202 (12 ch. mixer). This is definitely where we need to upgrade the most right now, and I completely agree with whoever said behringer has longterm issues. imo behringer has short term issues because everything they make is a piece of shit. i wouldn't ever consider using behringer speakers, and we all agree the mixer has to go asap. if you want me to find out what type of power amp we;re using i can but it's all at our rehearsal space right now.
