guitar bands liek led zeppelin and van halen all th great rock bands of the 60s, 70s, and 80s are dead. There are a few bands I would say are led by guitar such as Coheed and Cambria though I don't like them very much. There will be a day where the guitar rules rock again.

The guitar "god" is not dead. The problem with the guitar is mainstream radio and MTV don't care about it. They want you to hear all the little pop bands and shit like that which have no inspiration. Some where there is some guy playing completely out there stuff on guitar that would have us all sack-jawed in awe. You just got to search harder for good music now a days!
