Ross, can you find Yairi's in many guitar shops??? I've never seen one around where I live and I've always wanted to play one. How much did you pay for yours?"

The Yairi's are here and there, I got lucky and they had the one I wanted. I got mine or $850 (US) with a hard case which is sweet because it's like canvas (sp?) on the outside instead like plastic or pleather. But what's so special about Yairi's are their hand made by some dude named Yairi something in Japan and they use scalloped braces.
scalloped braces are nothing special these days, even economy guitars use them.

ive never played a yairi but want to

Well it obviously has something to do with it, or they wouldn't do it.
If you ever have a chance to play a Yairi, you should, they play like a
wet-dream. Like I said before I play with dudes who have Martins, Taylors and Takamine, and it's much louder.. I have a hard time getting them to put it down.

I won the auction, it was a 'Make an offer' auction, so I offered $150.00 and they accepted! They added $30 to ship and included a gig bag for $15.00 ..really nice people to deal with..You can try and find their auctions by looking for TulsaBand..I think that is their user name. They also have a web site for their store. (this may have been their last one of this model as they said that they were clearing some of last years models.

acoustic guitar magazine gave a great review of this guitar a few months back you can find the review along with audio samples here:

http://www.acousticguitar.com/article/1 ... GEAR-1.asp

if prompted for a password use the word "spring"....

after owning this guitar for a month or so I have to say that it is a great guitar for the money. The tone is great for a $200 guitar and it seems to be put together very well. I think that the review above is very fair.
